SOMETHING VERY PERSONAL I ALGO MUITO PESSOAL

Today I am in the mood to talk about something really personal: perfume. I've got to know this perfum last year, during a trip and I was delighted with the fragrance. It is a mix: orange's flowers, rose petals and jasmin flowers (I must confess I checked - my nose is not that accurated). Plus, the bottle has such a cool design (high hills inspiration - I heard). Well, I'm aware that perfums are really personal stuff - I mean, what pleases someone might not be the best option for somebody else; but...this really pleased a lot of people. Pretty often people asked me: - "Which perfum are you using? Very nice!!". Always good to hear that, right?:-) Well, here it goes: "F by Ferragamo". Keep it in mind next time you feel like weeling to try something new. Well, it's a nice hint. You might also like. Who knows?;-)

Hoje eu estou com vontade de falar sobre algo muito pessoal: perfume. Eu descobri este perfume ano passado, durante uma viagem e fiquei encantada com a fragrância. É uma mistura de: flores de laranja, pétalas de rosas e flores de jasmim (confesso que verifiquei - meu olfato não é assim tão acurado). Além disso, o frasco tem um design muito bacana (inspirado em sapatos de salto - ouvi dizer). Claro que perfume é algo muito pessoal - ou seja, o que agrada a uma pessoa pode não agradar a outra; mas,... esse agradou bastante a muita gente. Sempre me perguntavam: - "Que perfume você tá usando? Muito bom!!". Sempre bom ouvir isso, né?:-) Bem, aqui vai: "F by Ferragamo". Bem, guarde essa informação para próxima vez que estiver no clima de tentar algo diferente. É uma boa dica. Você também pode gostar. Quem sabe?;-)

Everytime I try one of these shoes, some friend of mine asks "where did you buy it?". Well, here it goes: Via Uno and Mr. Cat. Each of those shoes are like combos: beutiful & comfortables.

BAUHAUS AT FASHION I BAUHAUS NA MODA

Camila Milessi and Emiliano Blanco were two other Latin American designers that caught my attention last week (reading the story - I mentioned earlier - at L'OFFICIEL). Together they created Kostüme, a brand of clothes that stands out for its minimalism. But I must say these designers caught me when they mentioned the reference that they use to develop their collections: B-A-U-H-A-U-S. Yes, I said BAUHAUS. I respect any designer that seeks inspiration in this school. Yes, I am also fascinated by Bauhaus! And, I must say, after checking their collections, that they are translating this reference into the clothes in a flawlessly way. This piece (picture) belongs to Kostüme's collection 2011. Don't you love when you buy a magazine because of a very especific headline on the cover and when you open the magazine you find out the story is well writen and full of meaning full information?:-) Yes, I am talking about the brazilian L'OFFICIEL number 46. The story about the South America's new designers was juicy!

LOUISE'S SANDAL I SANDÁLIA DA LOUISE

The first time I saw this sandal - my friend Louise was wearing - I felt speechless (belongs to Via Uno's new collection). The materials, the colors...fabulous!


Well, this is not for everyone - you have to know how to move with such high heel - neither for lots of ocasions - because it would be hard to stand for long periods. But, definitly, shoes like that catches attention, helps with our self confidence. Magic, isn't it?

Da primeira vez que vi esta sandália - no pé da minha amiga Louise - eu fiquei sem palavras (ela pertence a nova coleção da Via Uno). A combinação de materiais e cores...fabulosa!


Bem, esta sandália não é para qualquer pessoa - tem que saber se mover em cima de um salto desses - nem para qualquer ocasião - porque não dá para ficar em pé muito tempo sobre um salto desses. Mas, definitivamente, uma sandália dessas chama a atenção, marca presença, mexe com a nossa auto confiança. Mágica, não?!

MAGIC SHOES I SAPATOS MÁGICOS

This week I was wondering about "shoe fetish". Some very interesting people gave us some thoghts about "fetish". Marx had a very peculiar view (let me underline I am not planning to go deep into his thoughts). According to him, fetish designates fantasy that hangs over a material good and it’s not related with its utility, the materials that were used or the labor applied.


So, what would fetish really meant? In the eighteenth century, portuguese used to say fetish was related with spell, was related to magic powers embedded inside the object. And, an object, once bewitched, would give special powers to his owner.


But wait ... isn’t that what a good pair of shoes does? Lol! An elegant pair of shoes transforms an entire look, changes our behavior. And this has nothing to do with the materials that constitute them, the energy applyed by workers in the process, or the use to be made.


Yeah! Certain shoes make us more confident, more elegant, more fearless. Why? Well, certain shoes really seem to have magical powers!


What I think about that? Well, " yo no creo en las brujas; pero que las hay, las hay ".;-)

Essa semana fiquei pensando a respeito dessa história de fetiche por calçados. Muita gente já teorizou a respeito do termo "fetiche", inclusive Karl Marx. Sua visão era muito peculiar (mas sublinho que não vou me aprofundar nisso por aqui). Segundo ele, fetiche relaciona-se à fantasia, ao simbolismo que paira sobre um objeto material e que nada tem a ver com a utilidade do objeto, com o valor do trabalho que ali foi empregado, ou com os materiais que ali foram utilizados.


Então, fetiche teria a ver com o quê? Ora, como já diziam os portugueses no século XVIII, estaria associado a palavra feitiço e teria a ver com poderes mágicos que seriam atribuídos a um objeto qualquer. Um objeto, uma vez enfeitiçado, conferiria poderes especiais a quem o possuísse.


Mas espera aí...e não é isso que um bom par de calçados faz? Risos! Um sapato elegante transforma qualquer visual, interfere no nosso comportamento. E isso nada tem a ver com sua utilidade em termos práticos, com seus materiais constitutivos ou com a energia empregada pelos trabalhadores que contribuíram para que eles fossem elaborados.


Pois é! Determinados calçados nos deixam mais confiantes, mais elegantes, mais destemidas (os). Por quê? Bem, determinados calçados realmente parecem ter poderes mágicos!


Se eu realmente penso isso? Bem, "yo no creo en las brujas; pero que las hay, las hay".;-)

BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE I ANTES DE MAIS NADA

I am a shoes lover. Well, do not misunderstand that. I am not a shopaholic, I am actually very aware of the things I want and need, and I am very rational about the things I buy. And, every now and then, I like to by a Vogue (and read it while drinks an espresso) or go to a nice shopping center to check few shoes stores, not exactly to buy whatever its displayed, but to marvel, to feel inspired by art. Yes, art! That is what I feel: shoes = art. Well, actually not all of them, but some of them,...and those are the ones I am willing to talk about. Feel invited and welcome to check my thoghts, feelings, comments about the fashion industry - especially shoes industry.

Eu sou apaixonada por calçados. Não me entenda mal, eu não sou uma compradora compulsiva. Na verdade sou uma compradora muito racional e consciente das coisas que quero preciso. E, vez por outra gosto de comprar uma Vogue (e devorá-la tomando um expresso) ou ir a um bom shopping Center checar algumas lojas de calçados, não exatamente para comprar qualquer coisa que esteja na vitrine, mas para ser inspirada pela arte. Sim, arte! É isso o que eu sinto: calçados = arte! Bem, na verdade, nem todos eles,...mas, alguns,...e é desses que eu pretendo falar aqui.
